Challenge: Adventure [Oct. 22nd, 2010|05:38 pm]
Gyakuten Saiban Drabbles

Title: I Would Move Mountains For You, I Would Drain Oceans For You
Word Count: One-mf'in-hundred (according to gDocs)
Prompt + Side: Prosecution + Adventure
Characters: Phoenix/Edgeworth
Warnings: Purposely vague writings!

Waiting for Miles Edgeworth to think things over is like waiting for icebergs to melt.

The room is quiet, and Phoenix leans back into the couch, hoping this physical approximation of relaxation will help ease his nerves. Miles appears to be closely studying his hands, but Phoenix knows his mind is elsewhere, weighing and debating the pros and cons, mapping out all credible scenarios that could result from either possible answer.

Yes or No.

"Come on," he hears himself saying; and oh, he'd been so patient. "What's the worst that could happen?"

And finally--finally--Miles says, "My answer is yes."

I think this week really sums up what I like best about writing these little blurbs. This fic is--to me, at least--hopeful and cautiously happy, given the challenge. It takes on a whole 'nother vibe if the challenge were, say, Regret or Distance.

YES! I loved it, and I know where my mind went when I read it, but the ambiguity is gorgeous. :)

And I'm a P/E fan no matter what, so... yeah. You nailed that dialogue beautifully.
