Title: Action
Word Count: 176
Prompt + Side: Adventure + Defense
Characters: Shih-na
Warnings: Vague spoilers for 5-5

She knows it's a kamikaze mission, that the last few have been, that she hasn't been caught but people don't last long in her trade.

And her number's been up for awhile now. Ever since she reported back and put a high-heeled foot down: I'm not killing Lang. When they'd looked at her for the justification for saying such a thing, for making demands of them, it had slipped out-- He's been kind to me.

No answer from them, no agreement, no scorn, but that feeling in the pit of her stomach-- years of flawless results, of so rarely feeling anything in this job, and of never telling anyone else when something moves you, and she'd blown it.

And tonight might be the end of it all.

She looks at the gun on the table, and readjusts the hair sticks in her bun, trying to quell the terror, trying to use the adrenaline for positive purposes. Tonight's plan is ridiculous but she's always been good at the complicated ones.

It'll be an adventure, even if it's a suicide mission.

I am super in love with this. She's such a mystery--and maybe the most interesting female character in the series--and I loved this peek inside her head.
